Former trainer Ian Balding has paid tribute to dual champion miler Selkirk, who has died at the age of 25.
At stud, Selkirk sired winners of over 1,500 races, including 90 individual stakes scorers, with Nahrain and Cityscape among his most recent success stories. Kirsten Rausing, general manager of Lanwades, said: "I feel immensely privileged to have had Selkirk standing at Lanwades throughout his stud career. "He was a wonderfully kind and co-operative character. "We will greatly miss him, but his memory will live on, not only here at the stud, but throughout the thoroughbred industry in this country and abroad."
