Rugby Football League scraps Championship bonus points system from next season

The Rugby Football League has scrapped the system of bonus points that has been used in the Championship for the last seven years.
Clubs were awarded three points for a win, two for a draw and one for a defeat by 12 points or less but the RFL has decided to standardise the system across all three divisions in 2015.
As a result, it will now be two points for a win and one for a draw in the First Utility Super League, Kingstone Press Championship and Kingstone Press League 1.
The move follows consultation with clubs, coaches and players, as well as a fan survey.
RFL chief executive Nigel Wood said: "With an exciting new league structure being introduced in 2015, it is clear that a standardised points system needs to be in place in all three divisions.
"The research revealed that there is much support for both points systems with each having its own merits.
"The RFL board takes the view that the points system familiar to the most spectators should take precedence for the 2015 season."
