St George Illawarra made it four National Rugby League (NRL) wins in a row when they powered to a 31-6 victory over Canterbury Bulldogs.
The Dragons have used a strong defence to emerge as finals contenders and they kept the Bulldogs firmly in check, while scoring tries themselves through Josh Dugan, Peter Mata'utia, Tyson Frizell, Joel Thompson and Euan Aitken.
Scrum-half Benji Marshall was in great form for the Dragons, who made sure of victory with an impressive first-half showing and led 18-0 at the interval.
Canterbury missed forwards James Graham, David Klemmer and Sam Kasiano, who were suspended after the fractious loss to the South Sydney Rabbitohs last week.
Elsewhere, the Melbourne Storm fought back from 10-2 down at half-time to defeat the Raiders 14-10 in Canberra.
Melbourne scored two quick tries after the break to improve their record in the nation's capital to just four wins from 19 matches.
Wayne Bennett's Brisbane Broncos lead the competition after six rounds following an enthralling 22-18 golden-point extra-time win over the Sydney Roosters at Lang Park.
It was the Broncos' fifth straight win and scrum-half Ben Hunt was the hero, weaving his way through to the try-line in the first period of extra-time.
Cronulla Sharks ended a run of 10 successive home defeats with a comfortable 22-6 win over the Newcastle Knights.
Cronulla laid the foundations for the win in the first half when Jack Bird and Luke Lewis both touched down.
Gold Coast secured a 38-16 win over Parramatta, inspired by a hat-trick of tries from James Roberts.
