Wigan Warriors wing Joe Burgess is determined to make his final game for the club “something to remember” when they take on Leeds Rhinos in the Super League Grand Final.

Burgess will leave the DW Stadium to join Sydney Roosters next season and he is keen to make his mark in the Old Trafford showpiece.

Wigan Head Caoch Shaun Wane says Ben Flower has nothing to prove in this season's Grand Final at Old Trafford.

"It's massive for me, I have been talking about it all week," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"I've not really thought about leaving until now but it is my last game and I want to make it something to remember."

Warriors prop Ben Flower became the first player to be sent off in Grand Final history when he was dismissed just two minutes into last year's game with St Helens after he punched Saints' stand-off Lance Hohaia while he was prone on the ground after being felled by Flower's initial punch.

That earned Flower a red card in the game and a six-month ban but Burgess feels that is now in the past.

"That was last year and we have put that behind us now. We knew he'd made a mistake," said Burgess.

"I think he wants to make up for it and we are behind him 100 per cent."

Wigan went on to lose 14-6 and Burgess admits the desire to make up for that defeat could prove to be a motivating factor.

"It gives us a big boost. To come so close [and lose], it was heartbreaking," added Burgess.

"We used that in pre-season [as motivation]. We really want to make up for it, not just for ourselves but for the fans as well.
