Workington forward Karl Olstrom has been handed a six-match ban for physically assaulting a referee.
The 24-year-old hooker or loose forward was initially charged with a grade F offence, which carries a suspension of at least eight matches.
He ran into referee Jon Roberts and pushed him over during his club's 62-0 defeat by Sheffield Eagles a week last Sunday which condemned the Cumbrians to relegation from the Kingstone Press Championship.
The charge was downgraded to grade E when he appeared in front of the Rugby Football League independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday evening and he pleaded guilty to the offence.
Olstrom, who was also fined £100, missed his club's opening two matches of the Super 8s after being sent off for striking in the derby against Whitehaven in July, but helped them to a shock 30-26 win over Shield leaders Bradford on Sunday.
