Batley overturned a half-time deficit to record a 28-18 win over Championship rivals Dewsbury on Boxing Day.
The Rams were first on the board thanks to a converted Toby Adamson try, and almost furthered their lead shortly thereafter but had a try disallowed for a forward pass as the Bulldogs struggled to get into the game.
Shaun Ainscough brought his side back into it with a try after smart work by Michael Hayward, but Gareth Potts then scored to give Dewsbury a 12-4 advantage which they held onto until the break.
Dominic Brambani brought the Bulldogs within striking distance of the visitors with the first score of the second half which he scored from dummy half, before Wayne Reittie crossed to give them the lead for the first time in the game.
Brambani provided the groundwork to Batley's next try, with Joe Chandler dotting down for a 22-12 lead to the Bulldogs.
Sean Squires put the finishing touches on the home side's win before Donald Kudangirana got one back for the Rams with a superb individual effort.
