Former Dewsbury Rams player Donald Kudangirana has been banned from all sport for three years and seven months after testing positive for two banned substances, UK Anti-Doping has announced.
The out-of-competition test took place during a Rams training session in December 2016 and the Zimbabwean's sample was found to contain testosterone and drostanolone, a steroid.
In a statement, UKAD chief executive Nicole Sapstead said: "It is every athlete's individual responsibility to monitor and control what substances enter their body. We hope cases such as Mr Kudangirana's serve as a deterrent to all other athletes."
Kudangirana, who had previously spent time at the Hemel Stags on loan, admitted the charge and has already served a year of his ban while on a provisional suspension, meaning he will be eligible again in August 2020.
