Toronto Wolfpack sign former Widnes prop Jack Buchanan

Toronto Wolfpack have signed Australian forward Jack Buchanan, who was released by Widnes at the end of the 2017 season.
The capture of the 25-year-old prop, who has signed a one-year deal with the option of a second, will help plug one of the gaps in the Wolfpack squad created by the sudden departure of front-row trio Dave Taylor, Fuifui Moimoi and Ryan Bailey for disciplinary reasons on the eve of the new season.
Toronto head coach Paul Rowley said: "Jack's signing is a positive step forward for our squad after losing several forwards recently.
"Jack has performed at a consistently high level in Super League over the last couple of seasons and will add good experience to the team.
"All our feedback from players who have played with or against Jack have been very positive. I am looking forward to him joining the team from his home in Australia as early as next week."
Buchanan, who played for Wests Tigers before joining Widnes two years ago, returned home to Australia after failing to agree terms with the Vikings and the club say he will now be on the first flight back to the UK.
"The attraction to the Wolfpack for me was the chance to be a part of something new and exciting," Buchanan said.
"There is a very promising squad with great coaching staff so I am very grateful to be a part of it."
