Club legend to take on under-18s coaching role

Stanley Gene is returning to Hull Kingston Rovers to coach the club's under-18s team. The Papua New Guinean became a cult hero in two spells as a player with the Robins going back to 1996 and now he is to take on an off-the-field role. Gene, who scored 104 tries in 150 games for the club and also played for Huddersfield, Hull and Bradford, coached Papua New Guinea in the 2010 Four Nations Series but has since been replaced by Adrian Lam. Gene said: "I'm just delighted to be back at the club where it all started for me and am looking forward to putting something back after all Hull Kingston Rovers has given me."
