Salford have continued their recruitment for the 2015 Super League season with the signing of St Helens prop Carl Forster.

The 22-year-old spent the first month of the 2014 season with the London Broncos and only made one league appearance for his parent club this year.

After his time with London and an emergency appearance for the injury-hit Saints, he spent the rest of the season with Kingstone Press Championship side Whitehaven.

His performances have been beyond his years and he has really progressed this season. Carl’s commitment, despite being a dual registration player, has been superb.

His performances with the Cumbrians side were enough to secure a nomination for the Championship’s Young Player of the Year award.

After learning of the nomination Whitehaven chief executive Barry Richardson said of Forster: “He’s done a fantastic job for us this year.

“His performances have been beyond his years and he has really progressed this season. Carl’s commitment, despite being a dual registration player, has been superb.

“We are doing our best to keep him but he is attracting interest from a number of clubs.”

Meanwhile, Red Devils owner Dr Marwan Koukash was delighted to reveal his latest acquisition via Twitter.
