Halifax move up to fifth in Kingstone Press Championship

Halifax stole a march on their rivals in the Kingstone Press Championship with a 60-18 win over Whitehaven to climb up to fifth.
Richard Marshall's men led only 18-12 at half-time, having at one time been 16-0 in front, but they produced a clinical second-half display to run away with the game.
Centre Steve Tyrer and forward Adam Robinson both scored a try in each half and others came from Tom Saxton, Dane Manning, James Saltonstall, Ben Johnston, Ed Barber and Scott Murrell, who also kicked nine conversions.
Dion Aiye, Craig Calvert and Scott McAvoy scored tries for the Cumbrians, all converted by Jordan Johnstone.
In Sunday’s other match in a programme curtailed by the Challenge Cup, Workington won 37-6 at Doncaster to leave their hosts still looking for their first win of the season.
Town were indebted for their win to their Wigan contingent, with second-rower Rhodri Lloyd scoring two tries and full-back Lewis Tierney grabbing a hat-trick as part of their dual-registration deal.
Brett Phillips and Jack Murphy got Workington's other tries, while Jake Shorrocks and Kurt Horton each kicked two goals and Jamie Duran, another player borrowed from Wigan, landed a drop goal.
Doncaster had led 6-0 thanks to Dave Scott's try and goal but their misery was compounded by the dismissal of Mitch Clark.
