Highly-rated former Warrington prop Mike Cooper has ruled out a return to Super League in the near future after signing a two-year contract extension with St George Illawarra.
The Englishman, 26, has been a virtual ever-present for the Dragons since joining them ahead of the 2014 season and has already played 32 NRL games.
Cooper, whose last appearance for the Wolves was in their 2013 Grand Final defeat by Wigan, played well enough to earn a place in the England squad for the 2014 Four Nations Series and is delighted to extend his stay in Sydney.
"It was a very easy decision for me to make," said Cooper, who became a father for the first time earlier this year.
"I didn't put too much pressure on myself when I first came out here, I just wanted to make the starting 17 and play NRL and things have gone from there.
"The players and the coaching staff are first class and I think everyone is getting the best out of me, my game is developing here and I just really want to be a part of the future at the Dragons."
Dragons director of recruitment and retention Peter Mulholland said: "Mike is a quality person. He has adapted well and has really improved his game in the Dragons and NRL environment.
"He is an enthusiastic and important part of our squad and everyone at the club is happy to see him remain for at least a further two seasons."
