England coach Steve McNamara is tipping Elliott Whitehead to be the latest Super League player to make a successful transition to NRL next year.
The 25 year old Catalans second-rower, who was handed his England debut by McNamara in the 2014 Four Nations Series, has agreed a two-year deal with Canberra Raiders from 2016 and will join a number of international team-mates down under next season.
Whitehead has impressed with Dragons since his switch from Bradford two years ago and McNamara believes he has the right attributes to standout in the Australian Capital.
"I've had a chat with Elliott about his move and I think it's good for him," McNamara said.
"It will be a challenge for him, as it is for every player, but he's got elements to his game that will be really good and will improve in the NRL. I think he'll stand out."
