Leeds Rhinos forward Jamie Jones-Buchanan out for six to nine months

Leeds Rhinos have been handed a blow as they attempt to land a Super League and Challenge Cup double after Jamie Jones-Buchanan was ruled out for between six and nine months.
The forward suffered a serious injury in Friday night's 24-14 Challenge Cup semi-final win over St Helens at Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Subsequent scans have revealed the 34-year-old England international ruptured his quad tendon and he will undergo an operation on Wednesday.
"This is desperately disappointing news for Jamie and everyone is fully behind him after this set back,” Head Coach Brian McDermott told the club’s official website.
“He is in the best possible hands with our medical team and I have no doubt, given the obstacles he has already overcome in his career, he will come more determined than ever to perform to his best for the team next season."
Jones-Buchanan will miss the trip to Wembley to face Hull KR in the Challenge Cup final on August 29 and will also be forced to sit out the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 10, should the Rhinos make it that far.
