Salford promote four academy members to Super League squad

Salford have promoted four members of their academy to their 2016 Super League squad amid uncertainty about Rangi Chase's future.

Jake Bibby, Josh Wood, Matthew Wilkinson and Liam Bent will join U19s captain Ryan Lannon in the Red Devils' full-time squad next season.

Salford owner Marwan Koukash said: "Building upon the club's youth structure is essential moving forward and I'm delighted that we have signed such promising talent for the future."

Chase was suspended a fortnight ago pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing after he apparently failed to turn up for a training session, and is now on sick leave.
