Scott Wheeldon has joined Championship club Sheffield Eagles on a three-year contract after the prop was released by Castleford.
The Eagles, who are going full-time in 2016, say they have beaten off competition from a host of clubs to land the former Hull, Hull KR and London Broncos forward.
Wheeldon has played his entire professional career in Super League. The 29-year-old played for Hull in the 2006 Grand Final and was in the Castleford team that lost in the 2014 Challenge Cup final to Leeds.
"We are thrilled to have brought Scott to Sheffield Eagles," the club's director of rugby Mark Aston said.
"Scott's professionalism, experience and undoubted quality will make him a great addition for this club and I cannot wait to start working with him."
