Salford will be without forward Adam Walne for Saturday's Million Pound Game against Hull KR after he was handed a one-match ban for a dangerous throw.
Walne was charged with a grade B offence by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel for his dangerous tackle on Batley winger Shaun Ainscough during his side's crucial 42-14 victory in the final round of the Super 8s Qualifiers on Sunday.
The 25-year-old opted to use his early guilty plea and accept a one-match ban, ruling him out of the relegation decider against Hull KR.
Salford need to beat Hull KR in Saturday's one-off decider at the Lightstream Stadium, which is being shown live on Sky Sports 2, to avoid relegation from the Super League to the Kingstone Press Championship.
The Red Devils' victory over Batley signalled the end of Salford director of rugby Tim Sheens' connection with the club as he prepares to take over as head coach of Hull KR, having announced that he would take no part in the Million Pound Match if it was between his current and future employers.
