Salford back Niall Evalds has signed a new long-term contract.

Evalds, Salford's player of the year in 2015, has been with the Super League club for eight years after joining as a 15-year-old.

Head coach Ian Watson said: "Niall has made massive progress with the club. I'm really pleased that he's chosen to commit his long term future to Salford.

"He's had to really fight for his place this year and he's let his performances do the talking."

Chief executive Ian Blease said: "Niall has had good offers from other clubs but has chosen to stay here and continue to fight to maintain his place in the first team which is really pleasing.

"We're all really excited about the future for this group of players, but first and foremost the priority is Sunday's game against Huddersfield.
