Former player returns as chief executive
James Elston has been appointed as the new chief executive of Wakefield Wildcats.
Elston, a former player with the Wildcats, will resign as operations manager at Hull KR to rejoin the club as part of a senior management reshuffle designed to help them manage their application for a new Super League licence from 2012 and a possible move to a new stadium.
Diane Maskill, currently executive director, steps up to managing director and Francis Stephenson, another former player, is promoted from general manager to director of operations.
Wakefield chairman Ted Richardson said: "It is crucial for the future of the Wildcats that we have a vibrant management team supported by a staff that are committed to taking the club forward and achieving its ambitions both on and off the field of play.
"I believe we now have those assets in place."
