Former Hull and Castleford forward Liam Higgins has joined Engage Super League side Wakefield.
The 27-year-old prop has been playing for Sheffield Eagles in the Championship but returns to the top-tier after signing a deal until the end of the 2012 campaign.
Higgins becomes the second Wildcats signing of the week, joining back rower loan capture Tyrone McCarthy, who has joined from of Warrington.
Wakefield coach John Kear said with some pleasure: "I'm thrilled to welcome Liam to the club.
"He is a player that we tried to sign in the off season and I'm delighted that he is with us now.
"He is a strong, powerful prop forward and I look forward to seeing him in action for Wakefield."
