Batley scrum-half joins Wildcats on two-year deal

Wakefield have sealed the signing of scrum-half Gareth Moore on a two-year contract from Batley. The 21-year-old began his career at Leeds academy and went on to have spells at both Halifax and York before moving to Batley. He becomes the Wildcats' third signing in as many weeks after prop forwards Liam Higgins and Jarrad Hickey also made the switch to Wakefield. "Gareth is an exciting young prospect who will add creativity and strength in depth to our current squad," chief executive James Elston said. Moore added: "I'm really excited about my new opportunity here at Wakefield. I'm looking forward to working full-time and proving myself at Super League level."
