Prop elects to extend eight-year stay with Black and Whites

Ewan Dowes has decided to extend his stay at Hull after accepting a reduced-terms contract from the club. The 29-year-old prop had looked set to move on from the KC Stadium after initially turning down their offer of a new one-year deal. However, Dowes, who joined Hull from Leeds Rhinos in 2003, has now relented and said he is looking forward to adding to his tally of 217 appearances. He said: "When you have been at a club for eight years it is very hard to turn your back on them and during that time I have some really good memories of two cup finals and a Grand Final and I think, as a lot of the lads do, that we have a real chance of doing that again. "My target now is to get back to my best form and play my part for the team, and I have the perfect incentive in looking to extend my stay again after the new season is out."
