This season promises to be another 'stop and take notice' year for the First Utility Super League

The 30-year-old will also be expected to help fill the void created by the loss of Peacock, who has retired to become football manager of Hull Kingston Rovers after helping Leeds to the complete the treble last season.

"They're big boots to fill. I'm not going to be a Jamie Peacock - he's been a legend of this club and the game for a long time - I'm going to be a Keith Galloway," he said.

"As long as the coach is happy and the team is happy with how I'm playing, I'll be happy."

Former Australia international Galloway has also revealed he is keen to switch his allegiance to Scotland, who he qualifies for through his Dundee-born father.

The Bravehearts take on England, Australia and New Zealand in October and November, with Galloway hoping to be selected by Scotland head coach Steve McCormack.

"If everything goes to plan and my body's feeling good, I'll put my hand up to play for them," added Galloway.

"I've been wanting to play for them in the past but I've just had injuries at the wrong time. I met up with Steve in Australia last year and I've spoken to him since then.

"My father came over to Australia when he was in his 20s. I'm Australian but I'm proud of my Scottish ancestry and it would mean a lot to my family and myself if I could pull on that jersey."
