NRL champions welcome back winger Williams from injury

Leeds winger Ben Jones-Bishop is set to make his first appearance of the season in Friday's Heinz Big Soup World Club Challenge. The 23-year-old has been included in coach Brian McDermott's 19-man squad for the clash with NRL side Manly at Headingley, live on Sky Sports. Jones-Bishop, who played in last year's Grand Final but has been unable to force his way into the team at the start of 2012, looks the most likely to take the place of Lee Smith, who is expected to be ruled out of the fixture with a rib injury suffered in last Saturday's 20-6 defeat at Wigan. Ian Kirke, who also featured in the Rhinos' victory over St Helens at Old Trafford, has been chosen in front of fellow forward Richard Moore. It means the only absentees from the team that triumphed 32-16 to claim the 2011 title are hooker Danny Buderus, who is now back in Australia with the Newcastle Knights, and second rower Ali Lauitiiti, who has joined Wakefield.

Manly have received a boost ahead of the game with the news that winger David Williams has been passed fit to make his return to action. The Australia international missed the Sea Eagles' Grand Final triumph over the New Zealand Warriors last October with a broken neck. Williams and Michael Oldfield take the places of departed duo Michael Robertson and Will Hopoate, while co-captain Jason King returns from injury in place of Joe Galuvao. On the bench Darcy Lussick replaces Shane Rodney, who, like winger Robertson, is now plying his trade with the London Broncos. The NRL team have nine survivors from their 28-20 victory over Leeds in the 2009 World Club Challenge at Elland Road, including former St Helens favourite Jamie Lyon. Leeds squad: B Webb; B Jones-Bishop, K Watkins, Z Hardaker, R Hall; K Sinfield, D McGuire; R Bailey, R Burrow, J Peacock, J Jones-Buchanan, B Delaney, C Ablett.
