Leeds prop Kylie Leuluai is set to remain on the sidelines for a further six weeks after being told he requires shoulder surgery.
The 37-year-old New Zealander has not played since the Super League leaders' only defeat at Warrington a month ago but coach Brian McDermott says his injury has finally been properly diagnosed.
"We thought his biceps were the problem but he's actually got a bit of floating tissue in his shoulder which he's going to have cleaned out," McDermott said.
"He will be out for anything from between four to six weeks."
McDermott had feared Leuluai could be out for three months if he needed a bicep operation.
"It's great news," he added. "He has still got an important role to play with us.
"I think we've missed him over Easter, not just the extra body, but some of the direct carries he gives you."
