Harlequins have signalled their intention to build a home-grown Super League team by giving new contracts to three young Londoners.

Bryan, Caro and Williams commit to Twickenham Stoop

Harlequins have agreed new contracts with three young Londoners as they continue their efforts to build a home-grown team. Lamont Bryan, Dave Williams and Omari Caro will form part of an eight-man, club-trained group of players in Quins' engage Super League squad next season. Bryan, 22, who is from Croydon, and Hammersmith-born Caro, 19, who only began playing rugby league last year, have both been given two-year deals. London-born Williams, 23, who joined Harlequins at the age of 15, has signed a one-year contract. "We are really excited about these players earning squad numbers for 2011," said Harlequins acting head coach Rob Powell. "Lamont Bryan and Dave Williams are well known to the Harlequins RL fans. They have made further progress and will inevitably add more first team appearances to their current tally, next season. "Omari Caro is less well known, but he has enormous potential. We look forward to his continued development in 2011 and Omari will undoubtedly be pressing for a first team shirt." Harlequins have not offered a new contract to another Londoner, Luke May.
