Harlequins have further strengthened their squad for next season with the signings of Shane Rodney and Antonio Kaufusi.

Londoners continue to build for 2012 Super League season

Harlequins have further strengthened their pack for the 2012 season with the signings of experienced Australian forwards Shane Rodney and Antonio Kaufusi. Manly Sea Eagles second rower Rodney, 28, and Newcastle Knights prop forward Kaufusi, 26, have both signed three-year contracts, joining fellow Aussies Craig Gower, Mark Bryant and Michael Witt at the new-look Londoners. Rodney has made 125 appearances in the NRL with Penrith and Manly while Kaufusi, formerly with Melbourne and North Queensland, has played State of Origin and international football for both Tonga and Australia. "Shane is an experienced player with a lot of games under his belt, including a Grand Final win," stated Harlequins coach Rob Powell. "He is also a decent defender and will provide good strike on an edge. "Antonio has been playing some of the best football of his career this season for Newcastle, the sort of form that saw him play for Australia a few years ago. "He is a big explosive prop and will add a lot to our pack."
