Australian prop released by Super League club
London Broncos have confirmed they have released Australian prop Jarrad Hickey from his contract with the Stobart Super League club.
The Londoners swooped for the Wakefield Wildcats forward last year only to realise he would have been their sixth non-Federation trained player when Super League rules allow five.
The Broncos have tried registering the ex-Canterbury Bulldog man elsewhere and sending him out on loan, but have failed to bear fruit in their endeavours - leading to his release.
Unsuccessful
"The Super League club has worked with the player and his management company to try and secure either registration or loan with another club," read a statement on the club's
official website.
"This has proved unsuccessful and so by mutual consent Hickey has been released.
"The club would like to wish him well in the future. The club will make no further comment on the matter."
