Wakefield have signed Aaron Murphy, with Andy Raleigh and Danny Kirmond joining Huddersfield as part of the deal.
Centre joins Huddersfield on four-year deal
Wakefield and Huddersfield have completed a player swap that takes centre Aaron Murphy to the Galpharm Stadium, with forwards Andy Raleigh and Danny Kirmond moving in the opposite direction.
The 22-year-old Murphy turned down a move to Huddersfield at the start of the season when the Wildcats went into administration but has now agreed to the move on a four-year contract.
Murphy, who had 12 months left on his contract at the time of the Giants' earlier approach, has rejected Wakefield's offer of a new three-year deal.
Wakefield have received an undisclosed fee for Murphy as well as ex-Hull KR prop Raleigh, 30, who has signed a two-year contract, and former Featherstone player Kirmond, 25, who is moving on a three-year deal.
Kirmond spent most of the 2010 season with the Wildcats on loan.
Confident
Wakefield chief executive James Elston said: "Despite our best efforts I am very disappointed that Aaron Murphy will no longer be a part of the future at Wakefield.
"However we are keen to make sure we stick to our faith of developing young British talent and I am confident we have players, such as Danny Cowling and Lucas Walshaw, coming through that will successfully fill those shoes.
"We are delighted to have Danny and Andy on board for the future. Both players will add fantastic value to the club and the squad alike."
Huddersfield managing director Richard Thewlis said: "It is no secret that the Giants were one of several clubs keen to sign Aaron at the beginning of this season. We are delighted that he has chosen to join the Giants.
"While this announcement looks like a player swap, the reality is all three players had several clubs keen to sign them.
"We would like to thank both Andy and Danny for their excellent service to the claret and gold and wish them well in the future at a club that, like ourselves, looks to have exciting times ahead."
