Remi Casty has been appointed as captain of the Catalans Dragons for the forthcoming Super League season.
The 30-year-old France international prop, now in his second spell with the Perpignan club after returning from a stint in the NRL with Sydney Roosters, shared the captaincy with Gregory Mounis last season.
He will have the armband to himself this year, although he will miss the opening few weeks of the season as he recovers from a knee reconstruction.
Casty, who was club captain in 2012 and 2013, said: "I'm really proud to be captain of this team. It's a huge honour to represent the club, in particular this season, with the club celebrating its 10th anniversary."
Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous said: "It was not a hard decision for me, Remi was an obvious choice to everyone in this role.
"He is a natural leader and is a highly respected player within our group. He is an example on and off the field, who always gives his best for the team.
"He will be heavily supported by a group of leaders."
