Rovers look to the future by signing a club-record nine youngsters
Hull KR coach Justin Morgan has quickly turned his attention to other half-back targets after missing out on Brett Finch.
The Robins had been linked with a move for Finch and had held talks with the Australian after it became clear he would be leaving Melbourne.
However their hopes of capturing the 28-year-old ended on Monday when he joined Storm team-mates Jeff Lima and Ryan Hoffman in signing for Wigan.
Despite the setback, Morgan is already continuing his search for a play-maker from the NRL to add to Rovers' squad for the 2011 campaign.
No disruptions
"This does nothing to disrupt our recruitment drive for next season," Morgan told the
Hull Daily Mail.
"We have been looking at a few players and Finch was the one the media caught on to.
"I said from day one that Brett Finch was one of several players we were looking at. I never said he was our number one target. He is a quality player and a player and person I have a lot of time for.
"When one door closes another opens though and we are focusing our attention on the other players we highlighted.
"I am still after a half-back and there are a couple I am looking at."
Future stars
Meanwhile, Morgan has welcomed the next generation of players to Craven Park after the club signed up a record nine youngsters.
Jordan Milner, Sonny Esslemont, Matthew Beharrell, Danny Kelso, Josh O'Neill, Ryan Hart, Lewis Farr, Craig Smith and Callum Tolson have all penned their first professional deals with the Robins.
"This is a proud moment not only for the players but for the families who have put a lot into helping these young men achieve their goals," Morgan said on the club's website.
"Their next goal is to get into the Academy team and then beyond that they can look towards a Super League debut."
