Hull KR are considering a request from Liam Watts to be released from his contract.
The 21-year-old loose forward, who is in the England Knights squad preparing to take on Ireland on Saturday, is currently signed up by the Robins until the end of 2013.
However the player wants to leave now and it is thought that city rivals Hull, as well as Wakefield, could be battling it out for his signature.
In a statement Rovers said: "Discussions will take place between the club, Liam and his representatives in due course and no further comment will be made on the matter at the present time."
Watts joined Rovers at the age of 17 from Castleford in 2007 and has made 10 appearances so far this season, though he was not selected in coach Craig Sandercock's19-man squad for the game at Huddersfield on Monday.
