Prop Craig Huby has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at Castleford until the end of the 2014 season.

In-form prop forward happy to remain with his hometown club

Craig Huby has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at Castleford until the end of the 2014 season. The in-form prop forward has been rewarded by his hometown club after an impressive start to the new campaign. Huby has been a key part of a Tigers side that currently boasts the only remaining 100 percent record in the Engage Super League. His current deal had been due to expire at the end of the year but coach Terry Matterson is delighted that the 24-year-old will now be the "cornerstone" of Castleford's pack for years to come.

Madness

"I'm really pleased and I think all of the fans should be as well," said Castleford coach Terry Matterson. "It would have been madness if we had lost Craig as I think his best rugby is in front of him and I've no doubt that he'll play some representative football down the line. "He'll be the cornerstone of our pack for many years and I know Craig is very happy with it." Huby has scored 406 points in his 160 appearances since making his Castleford debut against Leeds as a 16-year-old in 2003. "I just wanted to show how loyal I am," he said on his new contract. "I never wanted to go anywhere else."
