Yow Yeh and Morris to face-off for spot in Sheens' team for final

Australia wingers Jharal Yow Yeh and Josh Morris will go head-to-head against Wales in Wrexham on Sunday to determine which of them will play in the Gillette Four Nations final. Coach Tim Sheens lost full-back Billy Slater with a broken collarbone during the 36-20 victory over England at Wembley, meaning at least one change will be enforced for the final. St George Illawarra's Darius Boyd, who plays full-back for his club, switched from the wing to his favourite position after the injury to Slater at Wembley and he will start in the number one jersey in the final. Yow Yeh of the Brisbane Broncos and Canterbury Bulldogs threequarter Morris, who have just two caps between them, will both come into the side for Australia's final group game against the Welsh to enable Sheens to make a final call. "I'll pick a winger from those two to pair with Akuila Uate for the final," Sheens said. The 21-year-old Yow Yeh, who made a tryscoring debut against New Zealand in the Anzac Test earlier this year, has welcomed being under the spotlight in such a way. "It's a good challenge. There's a couple of boys going up for it so I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully I can play consistent footie on Sunday," Yow Yeh said.

Opportunity

"I'm going to take my opportunity and run with it and hopefully get a chance to make the final." Morris, whose twin brother Brett who was ruled out of the tournament through injury, was a late call-up after missing out on the original squad. Sheens will name his team on Friday and is set to give debuts to half-back Daly Cherry-Evans and forwards Beau Scott and Corey Parker against Wales. The Kangaroos squad is currently down to 20, with hooker Robbie Farah having returned home due to family illness, centre Willie Tonga still recovering from a hip injury and forward Tony Williams suspended for a high tackle on England's Ben Westwood. Sheens will also rest captain Darren Lockyer, who carried a shoulder injury into the England game, as well as a couple of forwards. Hooker Cameron Smith, who has deputised for Lockyer in the past, is set to take over the captaincy for Sunday, although the decision needs to be ratified by the Australian Rugby League before it can be announced. Sheens added: "That would be the likely scenario. The Australian captaincy is normally sorted out by the powers-that-be. I have a say but Cameron has unofficially been vice-captain of the side."
