Ex-Great Britain international moves to Wrexham for 2011 season

New Crusaders coach Iestyn Harris has made former Bradford team-mate Stuart Reardon his first signing for the club. Reardon, who has made 144 Super League appearances, scoring 51 tries, moves to the Racecourse Ground on a one-year deal. The 29-year-old won two Grand Finals during his first spell with the Bulls whilst playing at full-back, leading to him being picked to represent Great Britain. He then joined Warrington in 2005 before returning to the Grattan Odsal Stadium for the 2010 campaign, scoring five tries as a winger. "I'm looking forward to playing at the Racecourse Ground next year and the opportunity to link up with Iestyn was too good to turn down," Reardon said. "The Crusaders did brilliantly last season and I believe the club can do even better next year. This is a club that is going places and I can't wait to start pre-season training."

Great professional

Harris, who was named as Crusaders' new boss on Monday following Brian Noble's decision not to remain in the role, is thrilled to have added Reardon to his first-team squad. The Welsh club have seen wingers Nick Youngquest and Gareth Raynor both depart since the end of the season. "Stuart is a great professional and brings real quality to the Crusaders squad," Harris said. "He's one of the best kick returners in Super League and his versatility means he can play in a number of positions for us. "Stuart's played at the highest level for many years, he's won every major honour in Super League and represented Great Britain which shows the kind of quality player he is. "I've played alongside Stuart and I know what a committed and talented player he can be. He is just the type of player you want playing alongside you and I'm delighted that he's joining us here in Wrexham. "He adds strength to our backline and his arrival will provide extra competition for places."
