McMenemy exits the KC Stadium

Australian back-row forward Shayne McMenemy has left Hull FC because of injury. The 31-year-old has not featured at the KC Stadium since dislocating his shoulder in April. He had been contracted until the end of the season, but with the club currently flying high in Super League an agreement has been agreed between the parties.

Disappointment

The former Halifax star has been blighted by a catalogue of injuries over the past year, and admits he is sad to be leaving. "I never thought I'd finish this way but the injuries I have had this year have been shattering and I haven't had the chance to prove myself," he said. "It is a shame because I wanted to finish my career here. It is a great club, my family and I love the place and I have fulfilled so many of my playing dreams here." Warrington Wolves are the next visitors to the KC on Sunday, as Hull look to maintain their grip on a play-off place with just six games of the regular season remaining.
