Ex-junior Kangaroo front rower joins Super League

Hull Kingston Rovers coach Justin Morgan has added Melbourne Storm prop Garret Crossman to his pack for next season. The 24-year-old is the ninth close season signing for The Robins, who are keen to build on their first season in Super League. Having secured the club's safety in the top flight Morgan has now made two signings from the NRL champions. Crossman joins former Storm team-mate Clint Newton at Rovers, where he has signed a two year deal.

Trade-off

Morgan said: "It's great to be able to attract a player with such experience and knowledge of the game. "As a club we are looking to move forward and build on what we have already established within Super League and I'm sure Garret will become a fan favourite." Former Halifax and Huddersfield prop Jim Gannon has made way for the new recruit after being released from the final year of his contract. Morgan added: "Jim is a consummate professional who played a significant role in retaining out Super League status for 2008. "I'm positive Jim will be a good acquisition for his next club."
