Re-building continues at Belle Vue
Wakefield have continued their re-structuring both on and off the field by welcoming back former players Nigel Wright and Francis Stephenson.
Wright, a former fly-half, has joined the coaching staff while ex-prop Stephenson has been named the club's new general manager.
In other changes prompted by the departure of chief executive Steve Ferres, head coach John Kear also joins the board as football director, James Elston becomes marketing and community director and vice chairman Eric Timmins will adopt a more active role in the management of the club.
Dynamic leadership
Former Sheffield and Great Britain forward Paul Broadbent is promoted from assistant to first team coach and will be assisted by Wright, who will have specific responsibility for the Under-21s.
"These key senior appointments will considerably strengthen the management team and provide pro-active and dynamic leadership to ensure the thoroughly professional and efficient operation of the club," said Wakefield executive director Diane Rogerson.
On the playing side, the Wildcats have continued their team re-building with the capture of prop Oliver Wilkes and full-back Scott Grix from Widnes Vikings on two-year deals.
Wilkes and Grix will be rejoining former Widnes team-mate Damien Blanch, while Brad Drew, Paul Reilly, Danny Brough and Tony Martin are already on board for 2008.
