Bradford pip Leeds to recruit the younger brothers of GB prop
Bradford Bulls have signed the twin brothers of new Great Britain international Sam Burgess from under the noses of Leeds Rhinos.
Thomas and George Burgess - both props like their brother Sam - had come through the scholarship scheme at Headingley.
However the duo from Dewsbury Moor have opted to reject deals at the Rhinos to join Sam at Bradford.
"I'm over the moon they've signed for Bradford and proud as punch for them both," Sam Burgess told the
Bradford Telegraph & Argus.
"They've been given an opportunity and now it's down to them.
"From what I've seen, I'm pretty sure they've got the right dedication to do that and hopefully they'll join me in the Bulls first team one day. That would be the ultimate goal - to all play together at Bradford."
Bradford coach Steve McNamara has no doubt that the Burgess twins can follow in the footsteps of Sam.
He said: "They are two huge boys with great potential. I think of all the young players we're signing this year, these two have the biggest areas of improvement left in them.
"They are big, raw-boned lads and it's pretty scary to think what they could turn in to."
