McGuire returns to action
Australia Test forward Dane Carlaw will make his Catalans Dragons debut in Saturday's pre-season friendly against a French President's XIII in Perpignan.
The former Brisbane Broncos back-rower is the Dragons' major off-season signing and will line up at loose forward.
Coach Mick Potter is without several regulars, including hooker Aaron Gorrell, and will give trials to promising youngsters Jean Philippe Baile, Florian Quintilla, Sébastien Payan and Vincent Pagès.
Scrum-half
Australian Casey McGuire will also be back in action after missing the final two months of last season through injury. He is expected to take over at scrum-half from the retired Stacey Jones.
"We've got a few early injury worries which is not welcome," said Potter.
"The pre-season has been pretty tough but Casey McGuire is looking good at half-back and is injury free."
The President's team includes former Dragons players Renaud Guigue, Frédéric Zitter, Adel Fellous, Aurélien Cologni and Teddy Saddaoui.
Saturday's match is the Dragons' only pre-season game.
