Wins for Giants, Dragons, Wolves, Vikings, Rams, Raiders...

Huddersfield took the derby honours against neighbours Halifax, winning 42-24, although only after the National League One outfit had boosted their Super League ambitions with a gutsy performance. The Giants led 12-0 lead inside five minutes with tries from Ryan Hudson and Luke Robinson. Giants winger Rod Jensen increased the lead when he touched down in the corner from Paul Whatuira's kick through before prop Frank Watene got Halifax on the board. They cut the gap to four points just before the half hour, hooker Mick Govin diving on Holroyd's grubber kick to score, but replacement hooker Tom Hemingway gave the Giants breathing space at half-time,and further tries from Jamahl Lolesi and Kevin Brown looked to have settled it. But Halifax substitutes David Wrench and Damian Gibson got the hosts back in the contest before late tries from Andy Raleigh and Robinson sealed victory for the Giants.

Nervy moments

Warrington Wolves had some nervy moments in the second half against Leigh Centurions but their Super League quality told in the end with a 28-16 success. The visitors cruised into a 16-0 lead at the break after dominating the first half with tries from John Clarke, Chris Riley and Chris Hicks. Leigh came out firing after the restart though and Ian Watson's try and conversion cut the gap to ten points, but the home side then wasted the chances their pressure brought about. The Wolves erased any hope of a shock with tries from Kevin Penny and Paul Rauhihi, rendering Mike Morrison's second try meaningless in the end as Warrington go into round five. Catalans Dragons edged past Featherstone 22-12 but had prop Stuart Dickens converted Rovers' tries, a shock could have been on the cards. Tommy Haughey broke through and fed Waine Pryce for his eighth try of the season with 16 minutes gone to put the hosts ahead. Catalans soon hit back through Justin Murphy, before Vincent Duport grabbed a brace of tries himself to make his side comfortable at the break. To their credit though, Featherstone began the second period in fine style and scored two tries in the half through Andy Kirk and Pryce with his second, albeit with a score from Adam Mogg in between, to spark thoughts of a comeback. But Dickens failed to convert for a third time, before Bosc slotted a penalty to ease the visitors' nerves and see them home.
Comeback Vikings
Former Super League club Widnes booked their place in the fifth round ith a 38-12 victory over National League Two leaders Doncaster. The Vikings had to come from behind after tries from Luke Gale and Andreas Bauer put the hosts ahead. However, two tries from Ian Hardman turned the tables and they crossed four more times for a comfortable victory at the Keepmoat Stadium. Dewsbury put their league woes to one side with a 26-12 away win at Batley. Early tries from Danny Maun and Kevin King looked to have put the Bulldogs incontrol but Kane Epati and Alex Bretherton replied for the Rams. Further scores from Jake Wilson and centre Andrew Bostock then settled the tie in favour of the National One basement boys. In-form Barrow brushed aside the challenge of Hunslet, beating their National Two rivals 48-16. James Nixon and Liam Harrison both scored a brace as theRaiders ran in nine tries.
