Ligament damage could rule full-back out for three months
Hull FC full-back Motu Tony is facing a lay-off of up to three months after scans revealed he has ligament damage in his knee.
The former New Zealand international was taken off in the first half of Hull's 28-20 victory against Huddersfield and has been referred to a specialist to discover the extent of the injury.
Todd Byrne is set to fill in for Tony at full-back against Hull KR at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday.
Wealth of experience
Byrne will switch from the right wing, with former Australia international Matt Sing returning after a four-match injury absence.
"Matt is a great player with a wealth of experience and still a big desire and passion for the game and to do well," said coach Peter Sharp.
"It is a massive boost, especially with Motu out. He has ligament damage and is facing a substantial spell on the sidelines. We will know more when he sees the specialist next week."
