Morgan - We kept the faith

Wolves left to rue another late loss as they let slip 16-point lead

Hull KR coach Justin Morgan felt his players had used their get out of jail free card after producing a stunning comeback to beat Warrington. Rovers looked to be heading for a defeat on their travels when they trailed 34-18 with eight minutes to play at the Halliwell-Jones Stadium. However, the visitors somehow managed to turn the game around in a frantic finish, scoring three tries in the final six minutes to level the scores. Michael Dobson then stepped up to slot over the match-winning kick from the touchline to give the Robins an unlikely win right at the death.

Faith

"We kept the faith after failing to control the game at any stage," Morgan said after the amazing turnaround. "Ninety per cent of the people inside the ground probably thought we couldn't win but the players had the faith. "We made too many silly mistakes in the first half and gave away too many penalties. We used our get-out-of-jail card and we will gain confidence from this. "I thought we had blown it when Shaun Briscoe didn't give the ball to Ben Galea near the end but then Paul Cooke showed his vision with the kick for Peter Fox to score. "Michael Dobson accepted the pressure, waved Paul Cooke away and kicked the vital goal."
Heartbreaking
Opposite number James Lowes is hoping his Warrington side learn from their second heartbreaking loss in just over a week. The Wolves were beaten 17-16 by a late Sean Long drop goal at St Helens last time out and once again proved unable to finish the job. To make matters worse they lost Chris Riley with concussion while Paul Rauhihi was also unable to complete the match because of a groin injury. "We were well in control but have to learn from this," said Lowes. "We turned over too much ball and eventually ran out of gas. We played a little dumb at times and we need to put that right. "Our guys have to learn we cannot score every time we get the ball."
