Experienced prop unfit for Wembley

St Helens prop Jason Cayless has lost his fitness race and will miss the Carnegie Challenge Cup final. As expected, the New Zealander will sit out Saturday's Wembley showpiece against Hull FC due to the knee ligament injury he suffered during last Sunday's 40-22 win over Huddersfield. "Jason won't be available until the play-offs," confirmed Saints coach Daniel Anderson when he named his initial 19-man cup final squad on Tuesday. Anderson has, however, included England's Samoa-born prop Maurie Fa'asavalu, who remains doubtful with a hamstring injury. "I would be more confident if Maurie had done a training session with us but he still hasn't trained with the team since the semi-finals," added Anderson. Nick Fozzard is set to replace Cayless in the front row, although the starting line-up will not be revealed until an hour before kick-off. Club captain Paul Sculthorpe, Australian back-rower Chris Flannery and former Wigan prop Bryn Hargreaves will make their Wembley debuts after missing Saints' win over Catalans Dragons a year ago. St Helens 19-man squad: Wellens, Gardner, Gidley, Talau, Meli, Pryce, Long, Fozzard, Cunningham, Gilmour, Wilkin, Sculthorpe, Roby, Flannery, Graham, Hargreaves, Clough, Fa'asavalu, Eastmond
