Castleford winger Michael Wainwright has agreed to a one-year deal that will see him continue in a Tigers jersey for 2009. Wainwright was named the club's coaches' player of the year at the end of a campaign which saw Tigers finish bottom of the engage Super League. "I am personally very pleased that Michael is staying with us and look forward to continuing to work with him," coach Terry Matterson said. "He is an enthusiastic and committed player and a really popular member of the squad." Wainwright, who helped the Tigers gain promotion from the National League in 2007 in his first season at the club, added: "I'm very pleased that things have been sorted out, I have enjoyed my two years at the Tigers and always wanted to stay. "The club are bringing in a lot of good new players and I'm really looking forward to next season."
