Rob Parker and Andy Bracek are leaving Warrington Wolves.

Arrival of Carvell leads to pair's exit

Rob Parker and Andy Bracek have been released by Warrington Wolves. Parker, 27, is in talks about a possible move to Salford City Reds, while Bracek, 21, is set to join the Celtic Crusaders, the other engage Super League new boys next season. Both Parker and Bracek were under contract for 2009 but Warrington needed to act to remain under the salary cap following the capture of Great Britain prop Garreth Carvell from Hull and they say the duo have left by mutual agreement. "The club wishes both players well for the future and thanks them for their service to the club," a club spokesman said.

Wright stuff

Meanwhile, Warrington have appointed former Wakefield and Wigan stand-off Nigel Wright as assistant to head coach James Lowes. Wright, 34, joins the Wolves from Wakefield where he was in charge of the reserves and assistant alongside Paul Broadbent to John Kear. "After 12 months at Wakefield, I decided to move on to further my own career," he said. "Warrington is a big club and it's the kind of challenge I need." After his career was cut short by injury in 1998, Wright spent seven years in Australia where he coached at local level and with the Penrith Panthers junior sides.
