Bradford Bulls winger Dave Halley has joined Super League rivals Wakefield Wildcats on a month-long loan.

Bulls winger will stay at Wakefield for a month

Bradford winger Dave Halley has signed a short-term loan deal with Wakefield Wildcats. The initial deal will last for only a month, as the Wildcats need cover for their injured three-quarters Matt Petersen and Ryan Atkins. Halley appeared for the Bulls in their latest friendly against Dewsbury but is unlikely to secure a first-team place for the upcoming Super League season ahead of Semi Tadulala and new signing Rikki Sheriffe.

Game time

The 22-year-old will join John Kear's side immediately and is set to play in Wakefield's friendly against Doncaster on Sunday. Bradford Bulls coach Steve McNamara revealed he released the Wales international for a short spell at Wakefield to give him some early season game time. "The deal suits both Dave and Wakefield as well as us at this moment in time," he told the Telegraph & Argus. "He needs to be playing at the start of the season and his prospects of starting at Wakefield are very good."
