Winger goes back for second spell playing at Brewery Field

Celtic Crusaders have bolstered their squad by re-signing winger Paul Ballard for the 2009 campaign. The 24-year-old scored 40 tries in just 49 appearances for the Bridgend-based club over the previous two seasons. Ballard, who has previously played for Leigh and Widnes, could come into contention for a place in the squad for Saturday's home game with Hull FC. "I'm delighted to have re-signed for the season," he said. "Obviously I've a lot of friends here, I get on well with the players and I want to see how well I do in Super League. I'm looking forward to challenging for a place in the side." Crusaders coach John Dixon is delighted to have the player back again after such a successful first spell while the club were in the National Leagues. "Paul has played very well for us over the past two seasons and we're excited to see him get his chance in Super League," he added.
