Les Catalans have been hit with a third long-term injury as Dane Carlaw will be sidelined for six weeks.

French side suffer yet another long-term injury

Les Catalans have been hit with a third long-term injury blow with Dane Carlaw ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury. The former Brisbane Broncos back-rower was flattened by Ben Westwood's high tackle during the Dragons' superb 40-20 victory at Warrington on Saturday. Although the 29-year-old recovered from the high shot, he later found out he had suffered knee ligament damage. With the French outfit already missing new signing Jason Ryles and French international Sebastien Raguin, the loss of another experienced forward is a huge blow. Ryles and Raguin have shoulder and knee injuries respectively that will keep them out indefinitely, and the news on Carlaw is the last thing the club needed. "After losing Sebastien Raguin and Jason Ryles, it's a huge worry for the club," said football manager Sebastien Munoz. "Dane was a major player of the beginning of this season. "I feel bad for him because he worked very hard during the pre-season and was one of our best players in this season's start." In a bid to offset the latest injury, the Dragons will now step-up their pursuit of Australian star Greg Bird, whose move to Bradford fell through when he was refused a visa by the British High Commission.
