Former Canberra Raider out after undergoing surgery

Celtic Crusaders utility player Marshall Chalk has been ruled out for at least two months with a broken jaw. The 28-year-old former Canberra Raiders star suffered the break in Sunday's 34-22 defeat by Castleford. He underwent surgery to correct the problem on Wednesday and has been told he will not be back until the start of July at the earliest. The injury is the latest in a series of blows for the Crusaders, who go into Sunday's round game against Huddersfield in Edinburgh still looking for their first Super League win. Second rower Adam Peek will also miss the trip to Murrayfield after injuring his shoulder while scoring a try on Sunday, but Mark Lennon and Matty Smith are both close to returning from lengthy lay-offs.
